In the depths of the Negative Zone, flying alone through space, Annihilus prowled his cosmos.
He ruled almost all of this zone, his empire vast and almost without limits.
And yet it was still not enough. It was not enough to rule this zone, where there was little resistance which could challenge him. Annihilus longed to expand his forces, to rule all universes as he did this one. But most of all, there was one universe he wanted to rule.
The universe containing Earth, the universe which was already ruled by three great empires- the Shi'Ar, the Skrulls and the Kree. They would be mighty foes for Annihilus. His enormous fleet of interstellar battleships- the Annihilation Wave- was slowly being built up for just that invasion, but it would be centuries before they were ready.
But he wanted to invade now. Other visitors had come to the Negative Zone before. They surely would again. And sooner or later, someone powerful would come, someone Annihilus could have as an ally, someone who would bring him and his armies into that dimension
And then all of that universe would tremble before the mighty of The Living Death That Walks!

It seemed as though the Negative Zone itself was torn open by a force unparalleled by nothing else in the universe. There was a strange multi-colored glow that came along with it. Then there was a figure that came from the gigantic tear. This was none other than Thanos of Titan. His minions had heard rumors of a powerful possible ally who called himself Annihilus in the Negative Zone.
It seemed Thanos was right on time as he saw a fleet of starships. He crossed his arms as he sped to what seemed to be the main one.
Thanos held out his hand and directed vast amounts of cosmic energy into the ship so the his face could appear in front of Annihilus. "Are you the one that the universes fear and tremble before? Are you Annihilus?"

Exactly what Annihilus had hoped for. He beat his heavy wings, staring at the face that materialised before him. His first thought was to order his insectoid armies to attack, but then he thought better of it. He had visited many different universes, and always he had heard of a single thing. The Infinity Gauntlet. A weapon of such power it could tear apart the cosmos- a weapon which Annihilus would give up his empire to possess.
Surely it had to be that same power which now ripped open a hole to the Negative Zone?
If so, then maybe he should hold off on his assault... maybe this... being, whoever they were, would be his passage to freedom from the Negative Zone.
"I am Annihilus, The Living Death That Walks, ruler of the Negative Zone, commander of the Annihilation Wave." he hissed. "And who are you who dares to defile my universe?"

The face that was Thanos smirked. This Annihilus was quite the character indeed. Suddenly Thanos stood where the cosmic face once stood. He had his arms crossed and his eye sight rested on the being standing before him. "I am Thanos, Thanos of Titan. Owner of the Infinity Gauntlet and what shall soon by my own universe. I have come to make an offer Annihilus."
The gold on Thano's body sparkled for no appearent reason at all as he spoke with Annihilus. He red, eyes that showed no appearent pupils were cold. The gautlet sparkled with the many different colors of the Infinity gems.
Thanos awaited his reply.

Annihilus' insect-like eyes glittered as he surveyed the Infinity Gauntlet. It almost seemed to radiate power. This being, Thanos.... even in the darkest depths of other universes Annihilus had heard whispers of his name. He had to be powerful indeed on his own. And with the might of the Infinity Gauntlet... he was almost invincible.
With that gauntlet, and the strength of the Annihilation Wave...
Annihilus could dominate every galaxy in existence.
But there could be no question of simply assaulting Thanos here and now. That would be ridiculous. Annihilus was not super-intelligent, but even he knew that. The first step was to find his way OUT of the Negative Zone, to establish his territory, to begin his conquests.
THEN he could kill this fool and take his gauntlet. He was very interested in this offer indeed. But he didn't let it show. "Well then... give me your offer. Give me a reason why I shouldn't tear your beating heart from your warm-blooded body?" [/b]

"Because you know for a fact that I could destroy your entire fleet in under a second and be on my way perhaps?"shrugged Thanos as he red eyes shined a bit,"My offer is quite simple. I'll tear you and your minions out of this negative zone and allow you to wreak whatever havok you wish upon my universe. You will be second only to me, noone else. You can have all the empires as they pester me and I have destroyed alot of their forces several times over with incredible ease. So what do you say Living Death that Walks? Shall you come with me and practically rule over the universe? Or will you stay here for an eternity without a challenge in the universe for you?"

Annihilus clicked his mandibles. He was Annihilus.... he was second to none! He would be nobody's lackey! He also detested the way his opponent did not seem to fear him.
But then again....
Thanos spoke true.
He could obliterate the entire armada should he choose to.
And most importantly, he was offering Thanos a way to take his battlefleet into other universes, giving him the chance to annihilate all worlds. There had to be some ulterior motive- Thanos had to know of the sheer power of the Annihilation Wave- and Annihilus himself- otherwise he wouldn't have bothered to come here. He would surely be swelling this being's warfleet by countless amounts.
But Annihilus didn't much care what Thanos's motives were. He could conquer all of the universe itself, and then when Thanos had turned his back.... "I accept your offer."[/b] he said after a long pause. "I and my ships, the Annihilation Wave, are at your command..." He hissed under his breath. "Lord Thanos."

Thanos smirked as he could almost feel how difficult it was for him to pledge his allegiance to him. "Very well then, it's settled."said Thanos as he held the Infinity Gauntlet upward and surrounded the armada with a white light. Then there was another tear in the universe and the armada was sent flying through it, into Thano's universe. They were in open space. One could practically feel the difference from the Negative Zone. "Here you are."said Thanos as he picked a gem off his gauntlet and handed the Power gem to Annihilus,"Just to show that you are indeed a member of my empire."
